It’s a horrible feeling when one of your favourite bands comes to the UK, then minutes after the tickets go on sale, they are sold out. You’ve heard about it too late and missed out. After that the chance of getting sold out tickets at face value is slim. They’re going for 2 and 3 times value on ebay and you don’t know anyone willing to part with their tickets.
Today we learned of an emerging site called Scarlet Mist, a place wher you can buy or sell tickets for gigs at face value. If you don’t need a ticket that you’ve bought you sell it, and someone comes along an pays the face value on the ticket and gets to use it.
We like this site. It’s ethical, doesn’t allow for mark-up on prices so touts are dissuaded from operating there.
All the site does is puts you in touch with the holder of a ticket who needs to off-load it. You meet, cash changes hands and your off to the gig of your choice.
Of course, because these gigs are sold out you can’t guarantee that you’ll get a ticket for the particular event you are after, but it’s a lot better to try here than just sit back and hear everyone bragging about how good the gig was afterwards.
