Here’s a good article on wedding etiquette questions and answers. One etiquette question that caught my eye was “I’ve heard that you have up to a year after the wedding to buy a gift. Is that true?” - Hmmm. I might be guilty of buying a wedding gift a bit later than that on occassion. Still, at least they didn’t return it.

Wedding Insurance a Must For More Couples
The Toronto Globe and Mail reports how more couples and also partents paying for weddings are taking out wedding insurance to cover practically everything. The article also suggests people are being compelled to take out wedding insurance if they are using certain wedding planners. I can see how a parent spending £15K on their daughter’s wedding might think insurance is a wise investment though.

What Wedding Planners Wont Tell You
There is a funny article on smartmoney.com about 10 Things Wedding Planners Wont Tell You. There are some comedy wedding moments in there like “Your DJ’s been arrested” and perhaps “You don’t really need me?”. I particularly like the latter one - weddings have been known to happen without the aid of a wedding planner.

Wedding First Dance Songs
UK-Disco.co.uk has compiled a list of songs that it’s members have submitted as the top first dance wedding songs currently being requested in the UK. It’s kinda scary. So don’t be cliched - choose a first dance song that’s not on this list.
The survey, conducted by UK-Disco.co.uk, polled over 1,300 UK DJs to identify Britain’s Top 10 Wedding songs. Amongst the classic crooners were some surprise entries:
First Dance Wedding Songs – The Official Top 10:
1. Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing by Aerosmith
2. Everything I Do (I Do It For You) by Bryan Adams
3. Amazed by Lonestar
4. You’re Still The One by Shania Twain
5. From This Moment by Shania Twain
6. Have I Told You Lately by Van Morrison

Mac Wedding Planning Software
Brian Want has written an excellent piece on sourcing wedding planning software for Macs. Apparently PC users are well catered for when it comes to wedding planning software but Mac users hare having to dig a little deeper. Reviews of Summitsoft Wedding Planner and Essential Wedding Planner for Macs cover the main packages available.

Staying Calm on your Wedding Day
The Wichita Eagle has a short piece on staying calm on your wedding day. It all comes from a book that is linked to from the article.
I particularly liked the idea of this one:
“I ran the nervousness out of me on the morning of my wedding day. I went for a long jog by myself and felt much calmer when I got back. Running always does that for me.”
My own calm-me-down was a gin and tonic, but a run might have been the healthier option.
